Caring for Children Youth and Adults with Cerebral Palsy

As part of the 2024 Developmental Disabilities Conference, Dr. Garey Noritz, Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children with Disabilities, provides a detailed overview of approaches to the primary care of children, youth and young adults with cerebral palsy. He introduces the GMFC (Gross Motor Functional Classification) as a way for pediatricians to anticipate physical needs and discusses the importance of care coordination in the primary medical home to assure equitable access to care.
