One of our favorite Christmas movies is Its a Wonderful Life, where George Bailey gets a chance to see what an alternate reality looks like without him in it. Spoiler alert, George does not want to live in that alternate reality, especially since his wife, for some inexplicable reason, didn't get married despite being very attractive and having many pursuers (seems like Sam Wainwright would have snatched her up in a heartbeat.....watch the movie if I've lost you.....and shame on you if you haven't seen it). Another Christmas favorite is the Family Man starring Nicholas Cage as Jack Campbell, a very successful business man. Same type of idea, Jack is given the opportunity to live in an alternate reality, but in this case he likes it and wants to stay. Much like George and Jack, alternative investments give all of us a glimpse of alternate worlds. However, too many stories of people venturing into these alternative investments end up like George Bailey, they want out and want back to the investments they had before. Listen in, as we discuss many of the alternative investments out there, how to vet those investments to protect yourself, and diversify and uncorrelate your investment portfolio. That way you can be like Jack Campbell not George Bailey.
