Dramedies (Crazy Stupid Love, Little Miss Sunshine, & The Breakfast Club + Wallows Concert)

The rebrand is here! We’re finally ready to share that we have transitioned to the “second season” of our podcast and decided it was time for us to evolve. Now, we’re Two Girl Cinema Club! We hope you love the rebrand as much as us. In other news, we’re flying high off our Wallows concert last week and give all the details from the euphoric experience. Miley Cyrus also dropped her album, Something Beautiful, so we discuss that to round out the news segment of this episode.

This week, we focused on a few dramedies and had to switch gears a little because some of our original picks left streaming services. To start things off, we watched Crazy Stupid Love which neither of us had seen in quite some time. This movie held up, even though there were a couple things that frustrated us now that we’re watching with adult eyes. We both thought Little Miss Sunshine was a standout this week! Both of us had only seen this one once and we felt this movie is yet another testament to amazing casting and cas chemistry. These two movies also really show the range of Steve Carrell. To round things out, we went back a little further in time and watched The Breakfast Club. Another fantastic cast and certainly a movie that was ahead of its time, even though there’s some language that doesn’t translate the best today.
