“Every single thing I kind of break down into smaller segments - so if I have a big goal, if I can break it down and treat that individual goal as its own big thing, then the one-second advantage is a lot more apparent, and that’s where the details really start to come in,” Khurram Sultan

Khurram Sultan is an entrepreneur, basketball trainer, and founder of ITD Academy focused on developing young basketball players within Edmonton. Khurram is also the founder of Panthers basketball, one of the newest basketball clubs in Edmonton, which is partnered with Legacy Athletics, with their joint mission of providing a memorable experience for young athletes, providing them with an environment that fosters growth, and building confidence in their game as they develop. The Universal Radio Network’s very own Qashus had the opportunity to sit with Khurram to discuss how being knowledgeable in one area can help with another area of one’s life, working on your passion, and more in this sit-down.

At the beginning of the interview, Khurram gives the listeners a short introduction about himself, the origins of ITD, and how it evolved over time (8:24), what inspired him to fully commit to ITD Academy (11:28), how media played a role in basketball during COVID and in the present (14:56),  how Khurram used the one-second advantage in business and in his personal life (17:08), and why the small details are important in whatever you are working towards (19:50)

Next Khurram and Qashus talk about what free association is (23:41), the concept of unlearning habits that have been ingrained into our system (26:08), the importance of the friend group and peers he surrounds himself with (28:21), and advice Khurram would give for people looking to enhance their circle and the people they are surrounded by (36:22). Finally, Khurram gives insight as to why delusion can be a good thing (38:53), and how he obtained the creative spark for branding for both the digital and business side (46:28)
