Long before the Western world was "civilized," there was the Code of Hammurabi - a collection of Babylonian laws, developed during the reign of Hammurabi (1792–1750 BC) of the 1st dynasty of Babylon, consisting of 282 case laws, which include economic provisions, criminal and civil law, and the penalties varied according to the status of the offenders and the circumstances of the offenses. Lets take a look at some of the most famous of Hammurabi's rules.
