Ordinary Time - God Loves You
Join us for Cn Tim Clayton's sermon:
God Loves You, Hesed Pt. 8
God's Love: Simple, Deep, Foundational, Unspoiled

The times we live in are not easy, they are chaotic, it can be a challenge to not be overwhelmed by anger or grief or unrest.

Yet, within our life, God's "hesed" love is the center, it is the place of courage and confidence, it's a place to stand in the chaos and confusion...

Join us as Tim continues our summer series on God's Love:
God Loves You - Hesed

Sometimes we have been told in our lives various sayings
"God loves you, but…"
"God loves you, and…"
"God loves you, therefore…"

But what if it's simpler, more profound, more powerful, more transforming, and more beautiful than that.

God Loves You

What does this mean for you and me? It means EVERYTHING.
God's love, God's faithfulness, God's mercy, God's grace, God's kindness, and God's loyalty.

God's intense love for us cannot be overtaken even by a whole nation of people. God is always working in and throughout history, and there is nothing nor anyone who can stop the work of His love for each one of us.
God is everywhere, in ALL things, holding EVERYTHING together, and yet God is also immediately close to each one of us.

Simple and clear, simple and deep, simple and unspoiled, simple and foundational. We need somewhere good and beautiful and true where we can stand and center ourselves.

Hesed is what the psalms are written about in the first place. People write poems about great love.

The psalmist ends with:
As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
    when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.

Our deepest identity is to behold the face of God. To also recognize the likeness of Christ in one another. As we've done to the least of these, we've done unto Jesus.

We continue our look at God's "hesed" love as we look at the reading from Psalm 17.

I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;
    turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
Show me the wonders of your great love,
    you who save by your right hand
    those who take refuge in you from their foes.
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
    hide me in the shadow of your wings
from the wicked who are out to destroy me,
    from my mortal enemies who surround me.
