Join us for Mother Jen Keifer's sermon:
Christ the King -The Self Giving Way of The Kingdom of God vs the Ambitions of Empire.

We celebrate Christ the King Sunday which marks the end of the Church Calendar year. Culminating with the celebration of Jesus as King of Kings.
We find in our story today Jesus, the King, standing before Pilate (the Governor of Judea).
Pilate is asking him these four questions:
Are you king of the Jews?
What have you done?
So, you are a king?
What is truth?

In this insightful sermon, Jen talks us through the story and the background and the very important perspective and situation that we are finding Jesus and Pilate in.

What's the difference between the Kingdom of God and the Empires of our world? The Kingdom of God inverts Empire. Good news for the poor, liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.

Did we care for those that Empire tramples? The hungry? The thirsty? The prisoners? With Christ's help we can reject the ambitions of Empire and follow the self giving love and way of Jesus.

What is truth?
Jesus is truth, Jesus is King, and Jesus loves you and loves His good creation.
