Maduro has been accused by the United States of attempting to rig the election by naming a government-friendly electoral authority. Trump Supporters Fear that his rival, Joe Biden, will take the US towards "socialism" (Due To Previous President Chavez), others are rooting instead for Biden because they say they see an authoritarian and anti-democratic streak in the US president that reminds them of the late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez and, his successor, current Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.The US is one of the dozens of countries formally backing National Assembly speaker Guaido that refuse to recognise Maduro over allegations that his 2018 re-election was rigged.
