Navigating They/Them Pronouns (and family communication) (#82)

We're excited to invite Sophie back in Episode 82.  Join Joy and Sophie in exploring parental roles and responsibilities in communicating preferred pronouns and navigating extended family understanding (in Alex’s case, in advance of a 1:1 ten day trip with their Aunt, who doesn’t yet know Alex is nonbinary). Also, in this episode, Sophie names her (and our generation’s) challenge in having minimal visible adult nonbinary role models.  

Sophie also references a helpful book: A Quick & Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns (Quick & Easy Guides), by Archie Bongiovanni and Tristan Jimerson.  NOTE: Joy has several pronoun misses in this episode (referring to Alex as ‘he/him’); It’s a journey for all of us!
