Melody shares her thoughts and feelings before going into the Deadhorse 50mile race! She also shares what she has learned about training during HER training!

-Get a coach!!
-A coach is great for accountability, and can see things more clearly than you can. It's too easy to lie to yourself!
-Focus on running form (increase your cadence, stand up straight, relax your shoulders)
-A treadmill is a great tool to improve your running form
-Add strides to your easy runs (30sec fun fast runs)
-Do speedwork! Trail runners forget how important this is
-Don't obsess over your heart rate zones
-Try running based off of rate of percieved exertion instead of heart rate
