We are in a season of shift #BlackLivesMatter is the first time in my lifetime I have seen black people on a domestic and global scale come together and the objective is collective and clear. We have called to action brands and racist white people that are protecting their white privilege at all costs. In the midst of this, there is a call that is growing louder, this call is to our Black Gatekeepers who close that door and raise the drawbridge after themselves, refusing to let any other black person in. It is also the time as a community that we do some housekeeping. It is required and overdue to enable us to really affect long-lasting change and collectively enjoy the potential positive and proactive outcomes of #BlackLivesMatter.

Our Black Gatekeepers are in our workplaces, the creative industries, and all industries where the token black person resides as an island of one refusing to be joined by fellow black people.
