Ingredient apps seem like a miracle no-brainer in today's world where toxins are hiding nearly everywhere. You're telling me I can simply pull up an app, search what I want and immediately get a 'yes' or 'no'? Clean?  Not clean?  Sign me up! Or...not.

Here's the thing - I love what these apps stand for and the direction they're taking consumers. But, unfortunately it's not so cut and dry and these apps aren’t as accurate as you think.

I’m giving 5 reasons (using examples) to use these apps with caution.   At the end of the day, I want all of you to feel empowered enough to make your own judgements about the products in your house.

Relying on an app to give you the green light means you are relying on whether the creators of the app think something is safe or not.
