Today on Too Opinionated, we sit down with actress Nikki Duval!
In 2015, Nikki booked her first professional role In the Canadian war drama feature Hyena Raod directed, written, produced by and starring Paul Gross, who had requested her to audition after working together in her final year at the National Theatre School of Canada. The film also starred Rossif Sutherland and Allan Hawco. Her big break came when she was cast as Rosie Phillips in the hit television series Workin Moms (CBC/Netflix) starring opposite Catherine Reitman. She has been a regular cast member for all seven seasons of the show.
Since then, Nikki has amassed a significant body of work in major film and television productions including Imposters (Bravo), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Escaping the Mad House: The Nellie Bly Story Lifetime) opposite Christina Ricci, TallBoyz (CBC), New Eden (Crave), The Broken Hearts Gallery (Netflix), Wynona Earp (Syfy), The Novice (Prime Video), The Lake (Prime Video), and Killer High (Syfy). Most recently, Nikki starred in the comedy series Strays, a spin-off of Kim's Convenience, which centres on the character of Shannon Ross as she embarks on a new career in Hamilton as executive director of an animal shelter. The show aired for two seasons on CBC.
