Brigit is now the Irish Ambassador to the UN in Geneva. She invites Catriona and Sam to Switzerland for the Easter holiday in 2012. They all go on a visit to CERN where the Director General Francesco Romani wants to persuade Brigit that Irish membership would be of great benefit.
Catriona meets Chinese-Irish scientist Michael Zhang and finds that he was present on the night her father died.
