At the Fizz symposium I was lucky to meet Maria Bernard from the Heart Foundation. She is a nutrition expert. She is going out into the Pacific Islander community to give lectures and educate people about how much sugar is in sugary beverages. Learn a simple strategy. Look up the serving size, multiple by the amount of sugar in the drink and divide by 5 and you have the number of teaspoons. The average softdrink has 25 teaspoons.
The World Health Organization recommends 3 teaspoons of sugar for children, 6 teaspoons for women and 9 teaspoons for men per day.
