This story was a featured in the hit television series The Crown. The Great Smog is the central event of season 1, episode 4 on the popular Netflix program. Fans of the sci-fi cult classic Doctor Who, will remember when "The Great Smog" was the setting of the audio play "The Creeping Death". And the The Boris Starling novel Visibility is also set in this 1952 smog event.
