167: The Moral Case Against Socialism pt 2

Economic theories have both a moral foundation and moral implications. As such, Christians ought to critically evaluate economic theory. I contend that socialism is a morally evil and ideologically naïve economic philosophy that has failed everywhere it has been tried, resulting in tyranny and poverty. In this episode, I provide five more reasons for rejecting socialism, and then argue against the idea that Jesus or the Bible is socialist:

5. Socialism demonizes the rich and falsely attributes their wealth to oppression and discrimination

6. Socialism results in equal misery, not equal wealth

7. Socialism punishes the industrious and rewards/hurts the lazy

8. Socialism robs people of the fruit of their labor

9. Socialism makes people less charitable
