What happens when we know we should do something right, but we don't? That's the question at the heart of this powerful exploration of sins of omission. Having previously examined sins of commission, I now turn to the quieter but equally damaging ways we create distance between ourselves and authentic sonship with our Heavenly Father.
Drawing from James 4:17, I unpack four critical areas where we might be failing to do what's commanded: not helping those in need, failing to forgive, withholding the gospel, and not doing good when we can. But simply listing these sins misses the deeper issue—why do we hold back from doing what's right? The answer often lies in our identity wounds and the orphan spirit that keeps us viewing life through lenses of rejection and pain.
My own journey from wounded teenager to healed woman illustrates this transformation. After becoming pregnant at 14 and enduring mental and physical abuse, I had to make a conscious decision to break free from victimhood. Through years of intentional healing work—sozo sessions, coaching, community, and scripture—I discovered that when we shift from seeing ourselves as rejected orphans to beloved children of God, our ability to love and serve others naturally flows.
This healing journey isn't a quick fix but an adventure of continuous discovery. Each layer of healing affects every area of life—relationships, career, health, and finances all transform when we view them through healed eyes. If you're pursuing this path of sonship, you're already in the top 1% who refuse to quit when growth gets challenging.
