In today's episode, we talk about our experience with education and Unschooling in particular, and how learning is a natural aspect of living. The way we see it is that life is constantly inviting us to explore and learn and grow, and when we feel inspired or curious, we simply show up to play the game - in whatever form it comes.
We ask how well our educational system fosters this natural curiosity and facilitates the diverse ways in which we learn.
We talk about our experience in choosing Unschooling since unschooling was the primary way we (parents and children alike) chose for Parker and Cole's education. We share some wonderful experiences with trusting natural learning through curiosity, interest, exploration, and experimentation.
We share some of the groovy discoveries and adventures for us and how this style of learning informs and facilitates their lives as young adults now.
Can we trust our children to recognize what sparks joy and curiosity to learn and experiment? Yes. That's our experience.
Having experienced both traditional education and interest and self-trust facilitated learning we pose the idea that there is no one way to get an education, but perhaps it's happening all the time.
What are we learning?
