Send a text and share your thoughts. We want to hear from you!
In this episode MJ shares times she's had to teach yoga when that's the last thing she wanted to do.
She explores the questions: How do we teach during times of personal distress?
How do we make our student's feel good, when we feel like shit?
How do we navigate different personal and political views while maintaining our own personal convictions?
MJ has taught during a heart-breaking divorce, injuries, the pandemic and presently when many in this country are feeling disappointment, hopelessness and distrust.
There are no absolute do's or don'ts, just observations from what she has observed and learned from teaching yoga during challenging times.
Remembering that yoga translates as, to yoke, to join and to unite.
Remembering that Ahimsa ( non-harming) is paramount in cultivating compassion towards yourself and all.
Please share your experiences and reflections on teaching or practicing during times of turmoil.
