Rabbi Yoni Denitz was born and raised in Los Angeles.
He attended Hillel Hebrew Academy and Shalhevet High School followed by the University of Michigan, where he studied political science, economics and environmental studies. He worked in finance and for the Los Angeles City Council for a year after college before deciding that he wanted to study in Israel.
Rabbi Denitz learned in Machon Shlomo, Nesivos Ahron, and The Mir. He earned smicha at Rav Berkowitz's kollel. Since then, he has worked for Olami JAM Israel, for Jeff Seidel at Tel Aviv University, as the executive director of Nesivos Ahron, and as a rabbi at The Michael Levin Base for Lone Soldiers and he was one of the founders of the Olami Scholars program.
Rabbi Denitz has taught at various seminaries, including Midreshet HaRova, Tomer Devorah, Sharfman's/Bnos Torah, and of course, Meorot.
When not teaching or in the Beis Midrash, Rabbi Denitz can be found on the tennis court or brewing his own beer.
Mrs. Ariella Denitz is also from Los Angeles. She attended Or Eliyahu and Bais Yaakov of Los Angeles, followed by Michlalah, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She then earned her MBA from Tour and worked in property management for 10 years before transitioning to Jewish outreach. She has worked for Thrive at Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University, JPro and jinternship.
Mrs. Denitz enjoys curling up with a good book, and making the most amazing Shabbos food known to mankind, according to Rabbi Denitz.
Rabbi and Mrs. Denitz have 3 children and live in Maalot Dana.
Rabbi and Mrs. Denitz will be involved in all aspects of building Meorot, including the education, operations, and fundraising. They look forward to getting to know all of the loyal friends and supporters of Meorot.
