There is a difference between being Friendly and Welcoming.

Friendly- Take a look at what I have, isn't this nice. 

Welcoming- Take a look what I have, do you want some?

A lot of Churches are friendly, but not a lot of Churches are welcoming. 

Jesus welcomed people and invited them into his presence. He wanted those around him to participate in what He was doing. He wanted them to feel like it was as much for them, as it was for him. In the current culture, we need to be a Church that is inviting people along for the journey. (even with their baggage) 

Jesus is not our prize to be paraded in front of those who don't know him. Jesus is our bread that is meant to be shared with those that are hungry.
