Definition: To express grief, pain, or discontent or to make a formal accusation or charge.
Scripture:James 5:9 – “Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. The Judge is standing at the door and He is listening. Complaining is sinful to God and He will not tolerate sin in any circumstance.
Through my reading I have found five things that occur when we complain:
- It stops forward momentum.
- It fosters dissatisfaction in others.
- It squelches appreciation and fosters judgment.
- It becomes a way of thinking.
- It becomes your vision and your leadership.
I am going to take the liberty of adding number 6.
It takes your focus off of the sovereignty of God.
