Folk tales tell of a woman accused of witchcraft who cursed the land before dying in a fire, declaring that “the last to cross the gate, first to die.” Years later, a family built a new house where she once lived—only for the husband to descend into madness, murdering his family, setting the house aflame, and hanging himself from what locals now call “the Hanging Tree.” Today, visitors report hearing unearthly screams, seeing figures hanging from trees, and experiencing car alarms, failed electronics, and eerie sensations of being watched—all reinforcing the legend of a still-active curse.
