Episode 19 - Bruce "Hoppo" Hopkins

This week, we were lucky enough to sit down and chat to none other than Waverley Council Head Lifeguard, Bondi Rescue TV personality & Podcaster Bruce "Hoppo" Hopkins.

Hoppo takes us through his 30 plus years as a professional lifeguard patrolling Australia's most famous beach and his early years growing up in Bronte. Hoppo shares a lot of great stories from his early years working in radio on the NRL to the Sydney Olympics and life on and off the screen at Bondi. We take a deep dive into the good times, but also the struggles that lifeguards deal with and how the culture has changed over the past 30 years.

A golf lover, Hoppo takes us through his golf journey and some of the amazing courses he's played and people he has played with, including a round in the Hunter Valley with Brian Lara; amazing story. In his own words, "I'll go anywhere for a game of golf"
