Dr. Sami uses the experience of entering into an ever-changing, sometimes frightening, but always rewarding ocean as a metaphor for all of life including relationships and healing itself.
We discuss how, by gradually releasing our attachment to external safety (in the form of what Dr. Sami refers to as ‘binkies,’ such as wetsuits, buoys, and flippers) we can come into deeper relationship with ourselves and our fears and cultivate resilience and courage.
Dr Sherry Sami is the founder of Happy Kids Dental Planet in Agoura Hills, CA. She practices neuro-development orthodontics and compassionate medicine. Her practice is not like any other clinic – Dr. Sami brings a spiritual approach in all that she does whether that’s in her parenting, healing, and of course, swimming.
Dr. Sami is also the co-founder of the Love Button Global Movement, a nonprofit organization that promotes random acts of loving kindness, which you can check out in the links below.
