This is the Fourth Episode of the Visual Scholar Podcast - With Tim Mcburnie.

In this episode, we discuss Ritual, and Habit... and how we can use these ideas to help us build a positive relationship with our artistic practice.

Building positive habits through daily ritual is a great way to add art into your life! This can be contrasted to motivational styles involving Grit or Determination (Forcing yourself to do stuff you don't want to do).

Art often requires a good positive mindset while sitting down to create. (As we need to enjoy the process... and our emotions while creating can often be felt in our final finished art)

This is an important thing to get sorted no matter what stage you are at.

Often younger artists struggle with distraction and too much free time. Older artists might struggle with a packed schedule with no free time at all. Professional Artists can struggle to find time to create personal work.

Often the effective answer is to work on the natural pathways for creating an artistic habit.
