Shane Allen, the controller of BBC comedy commissioning, has decided the days of “White Blokes” comedy has passed. Its now going to be diverse and inclusive. The BBC will now ask, when commissioning a comedy, Whats the diversity story?. An example would be “Famalam” which is predominately a black cast and team of writers. So, gone are the days of Monty Python, The Two Ronnies and so on. From now on it will be “telling stories that haven’t been told”.
Doesn’t that sound fun. What do the boys think of it?
