Monitor Not Micro-Manager

In this 8-minute and 6-second nitty-gritty episode, I encourage you to be a Monitor who plans to check in with your people along the way, tell them to expect problems and prepare them to solve them proactively. Not a Micro-Manager who checks up on everyone constantly and pounces on people when there's a problem.

Nobody sets out to be a Micro-Manager, but you will become one if you can't trust your people and don't stop making it all about your success, not theirs.
