Why Do Athletes Go Broke #071

Being an athlete I have experienced this first hand.  The conversation about money is very taboo for athletes.  We don't talk about it.  We don't work together.  Yet, most of us are broke.  I've talked about how I have blown over a million dollars in my twelve-year career.  I got it together five years ago.  Once I learned the basics I was excited about seeing my money grow and work for me.  I think this can be the same with other athletes.  I want to try my best to get them the information that they need.  Study shows that 76% of NFL players have financial struggles after retirement.  NBA players are a little better at 60%.  This is unacceptable.  This season I want to focus on financial literacy.  Hopefully this season I can help athletes figure it out.
