NBC describes Superstore as a hilarious workplace comedy about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore. From the bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans to the clueless summer hires and the in-it-for-life managers, together they hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions.
I describe Superstore as a show set in a workplace that has some characters that are too unique. As in wacky for wacky’s sake and not real characters. More like caricatures, but with no signs of growth or being rounded out in anyway most of the way through the first season. The setting seems to be ripe for revelry, but really comes up short on that front. It was like going to the store to get your favorite item on sale and finding out they are all out, very disappointing.
Will you be checking out NBC’s Superstore when it premieres on Monday, November 30th following The Voice with a two episode special preview. It will start its regular run kicking off Monday nights on January 4th followed by new comedy Telenovela and The Biggest Loser.
