We all want to be comfortable.
That's the human way.
And I'm here for that!
Rest, relaxation, and pleasure are all necessary parts of the human experience. But if you're seeking comfort to escape feeling your feelings, maybe there's a problem.
You're falling beyond the realm of comfortable towards being comfortably numb, the state where you do whatever you need to do to numb the pain and avoid your feelings.
Maybe it manifests in drinking a bottle of wine after a hard day at the office. Or maybe you mindlessly binge-watch Netflix while shovelling junk food in your mouth.
It's not the action that's the problem; it's the reason you're doing it. Because if you don't allow yourself to feel, you'll never heal.
