Episode 5 of "The Tommy Brideson Podcast"
This episode takes a deep dive into what I call linchpins for the deadlift movement. Linchpins are a set of rules that will allow you to develop a consistent set up and technique. It doesn't matter whether you deadlift in a conventional or sumo stance, the linchpins will be really helpful.
The three linchpins are:
#1 - Setting your hinge and maintaining this throughout your sets
#2 - How to create an effective wedge by taking the slack out of the bar
#3 - Holding it all together by maintaining your off the floor and throughout the lift itself
Once you know how to organise and stack your body during the deadlift it really simplifies your ability to handle more weight, reps and progress the movement.
