KEY TAKEAWAYS
If you are starting your own business part of your strategy should be to have some kind of online engagement.
It’s vital to build your digital footprint and reach.
The passion of podcasting
I love meeting new guests.
Every time I do a podcast I’m expanding my network and I believe your net worth is determined by your network.
My guests educate, inspire and motivate me when they share challenges in their lives and how they have successfully overcome adversity.
Employers today jump on to see your social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, It’s the modern-day CV
Different sports, different people, shared passion, determination and mindset
Mel Deane – Irish rugby player, played for Harlequins, Sale Sharks and his country now retired. Heart of a lion with admirable aggressive animal instincts focused on scoring the points required. Determined to get through ‘melting’ whoever stood in the way.
Conrad Williams – track and field sprinter from Caribbean, represented GB in 2012 Olympic games. Preparing 2, 3 and 5 years in advance of Olympics physically, emotionally and through the right mindset. No short-term gratification but complete dedication to achieving the goals set.
Bradley Skeete - British Welter Weight boxing champion currently on hiatus but preparing for a return to the ring in the near future. If you don’t prepare in the gym, don’t put the hard graft in you’re going to bleed more in the ring you are going to get found out.
Bradley has an inner belief that helps him to endure the snakes and ladders effect in boxing – a win can put you on top and in demand, a loss can result in having to go back to the start.
If you don’t put the hard work in outside of your career, your job, your passion you are going to get found out later - it's going to show up as an opportunity that you can't quite grasp because you’re not prepared.
If you are not training you are missing the opportunity to become the
best version of you.
BEST MOMENTS
‘I'm going to show all those motherfuckers who doubted me that I am number 1 and can come back from adversity, I have no doubt Bradley is going to do that’
‘Part of your profile as an individual and as a business person is that you should be doing more things online to build your digital footprint’
‘Had someone stop me in the street and talk about my podcast, which was very humbling’
