Rut Strategies, Hunting Hard Edges, & Drew Using Backstrap for Jerky

Welcome back to the Southern Ground Hunting Podcast. In episode 57, Drew and I are talking about our season to this point. Drew finally got some meat in the freezer this week that wasn't killed with his Toyota. The only questionable thing is that he used one of the best cuts of meat... for jerky! Your loss, Drew. I get to share the heartbreaking story of my first Alabama rifle hunt of the season. I'll talk about the lessons learned and why I think it happened, but then I go into talking about the area I'm hunting. This year has been the year of opportunity for me. I've no doubt seen more deer than ever before, and in this episode I'm narrowing down the reasons why I think this is happening. In a nutshell... transitions, hard edges, funnels & pines have all played a huge part. Drew and I discuss these strategies and how we will apply them going into the Alabama rut. Enjoy!
