I remember the first time a therapist told me “let’s try to work through some affirmations regarding this piece of work. My response? Ummmmm, not sure that’s really for me. But when I put aside my hesitations and finally dug in to the process, a week in to the work and lo-and-behold, it actually alleviated a piece of anxiety for me. The writing of the personalized phrases I had created alongside my therapy-group girls was cathartic by day 5. It helped me feel a deeper sense of peace for myself and gave me some space in my brain for knowing that I, too, deserved to have relief from the old scripts I continued to play.
Affirmations can be hard to commit to but are definitely a productive part of building self confidence and uncovering the true YOU. Putting pen to paper in this way can help rewire your mindset, boost self-belief, and shift your daily focus toward growth and positivity, a huge win in the daily battle for inner peace.
