She discusses the challenges and successes of scaling their government contracting division over the past two years, including hiring experts and optimizing technology procurement; emphasizes the importance of leveraging resources like the APEX Accelerator program for navigating government contracts, and notes the significant impact small businesses have on the economy, particularly in job creation and innovation. Behrenbrinker aims to grow her team from 23 to 35 employees and increase revenue to $50 million, with upcoming bids for contracts annually worth $12.9 billion. “Just getting a little seat on that bus and a piece of that business makes a huge impact,” she says.
