The Slumpbuster Ep 101: Big Baller Bulls, Cubs Sell Everyone & NFC North Preview w/ Taylor Mathis

It's once again time to Bust the Slump and enjoy another episode of the Slumpbuster podcast! Taylor & Ju-Ju talk some of the biggest stories from NBA free agency, the MLB trade deadline and the NFL. 

There was a lot of action in the windy city when free agency began Monday. The Chicago Bulls completely overhauled their roster with several splashy moves. Their first big acquisition was Lonzo Ball from the New Orleans Pelicans. Lavar's eldest has slowly improved over the last three seasons and hopes to excel in the house that Jordan built. The following day, the Bulls executed a sign and trade with the San Antonio Spurs for former all-star Demar Derozan. Ball, Derozan, Zach Levine and Nikola Vucevic create a solid starting five for the Bulls but is it enough to make them contenders? #ChicagoBulls

Additionally in Taylor's current place of residency, the Phoenix Suns agreed to bring back Chris Paul on a 4-year $120M deal. The contract has a club option for 2024. Are the Suns still a threat in the Western Conference?

Next up, we allow Taylor to lament the mass exodus in the Chicago Cubs locker room. The Cubs had a flurry of trades at the MLB Trade Deadline, moving stars Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Craig Kimbrel and Javier Baez. Did the Cubs get enough in prospect return to justify this fire sale? Would Cubs fans be okay if they had another 100 year drought? #ChicagoCubs
