Today we're discussing chapter four of Take Time for You: Self Care Action Plans for Educators by Tina H. Boogren. This chapter is about belonging. Do you have a sense of belonging at work? If new teachers (or SLPs) don't feel that they belong at a school, they're much more likely to leave. Cultivating friendships with your coworkers is an important aspect of being an SLP. We give our best tips for building relationships with teachers when you work at a school. It is also important to feel a sense of belonging at home. The author of the book gives us strategies for strengthening relationships with our friends and loved ones. If you're doing this work along with us, make sure to create an action plan for enhancing your sense of belonging over the next week!
