Today we're discussing chapter three of Take Time for You: Self Care Action Plans for Educators by Tina H. Boogren. We're moving up the hierarchical needs ladder to safety and security needs. In order to be your best self, your safety and security needs must be met. Do you feel safe at school? Do you have a sense of security at home? If your answer is no to either of these questions, something needs to change. Warning, this episode gets a little heavy as we describe times when we have felt unsafe working with certain students. We discuss advocating for yourself as a speech therapist to make sure you feel safe while working. Please reach out to us via email or instagram if you need someone to talk to about anything we've discussed in this episode.
