This week we're covering chapter eight from Age of Opportunity by Laurence Steinberg, Ph.D. This chapter is called "Reimagining High School." In this episode, we discuss where American teens stand in relation to teens around the world and how schools can help build self-control. We discuss specific strategies for supporting teens as they develop self-regulation, including executive function training, mindfulness meditation, aerobic exercise, and sustained stimulation. As a bonus, the first half of this episode is spent discussing our feelings about the recent increase in ASHA dues and the state of the CCC. Let us know what you think by joining the discussion on Instagram!
