Episode 94: Can we normalize shipping female black leads as love interests?

After seeing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, I got to thinking how lead black actresses are never the love interest or "shipped" with anyone. It's like we have a certain role to play as the sassy, independent, strong character, whose only purpose is to be the savior. While I know Shuri's character was literally written to be this way but even in other films, black women are rarely the love interest. Just watch any rom-com not targeted towards the black or urban community. HaHa
