This week, I sat down with Andy Albalous, winner of BBC's "Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars 2023" and Co-founder of the CBD food brand Drops of Heal. Andy was a professional rugby player before a knee injury unexpectedly ended his playing career. It was through this injury that he sought out natural remedies for healing the body and also began working in retail as a strategic way to hone his skills and meet influential people before launching his business venture. Andy says that making connections and being friendly is really important, and you should always show what you can do, even if you don’t have a plan right away. We also talked about his experience on winning "Future Food Stars" and getting investment from Gordon Ramsay. We also also delved into handling criticism and finding the right balance between drive and enjoyment. We looked at how motivation can be good and bad, and the importance of celebrating wins, even if they aren't exactly what we hoped for, and how this fuels ambition. Finally, we discussed the importance of taking time for oneself and how it helps in understanding and pushing our limits.
