Ronit Plank is a writer, teacher, podcast host and speaker who believes stories save us. Her fiction and creative non-fiction have been nominated for 3 Pushcart Prizes and earned Best Microfiction and Best of the Net nominations. Her work has appeared in places like The Washington Post, Writer’s Digest, The New York Times and more. When She Comes Back, her first book, was a Finalist in the 2022 Housatonic Book Awards and the 2021 National Indie Excellence Awards; a memoir about losing her mother to the guru at the centre of the Netflix docuseries Wild Wild Country when she was a child and their eventual reconciliation. It’s a coming-of-age story about giving up one’s power, growing up in the 1980s in New York, struggling with poor body image, and how children survive when parents leave. Her 2nd book is the short story collection, Home is a Made-Up Place. Before Ronit began writing and podcasting, she was an actor.
