On this episode I become a mom! But it never really is that simple is it? My son's birth mom joins me today as we discuss the highs and very low lows of our adoption journey from each of our perspectives. Every adoption story is so different, each one is unique. I am blessed that Patricia and I can now call each other friends. But it definitely didn’t start that way.

Patricia is a 37 year old mother and wife. She is raising her daughter and two stepson’s. She is also the mother of two adopted children.

Shannon is a 41 year old wife and mom of three kiddos ages 14, 10 and 8. Shannon has enjoyed a social media account for years sharing her humor with friends and family. When one of her videos went viral it opened up a whole new world for her. She now has many viral videos and hundreds of thousands of social media followers. She shares her struggles of growing up in a cult, battles through years of infertility that ended in a hysterectomy and finally her journey to parenthood through foster care and adoption. Shannon is currently writing a memoir and her very own podcast is now available. She has created a platform where she shares the struggles of life in a humorous way as part of her self prescribed therapy and is excited to share even more through her book and podcast. Her podcast is interview style with interviews including people who have left cults, suffered with infertility, been involved with the foster care or adoption systems and those who have suffered with physical or mental health disorders. She absolutely loves learning from others' life experiences and is enjoying bringing those stories to a larger audience.
