Ep. 5 | Gold Star Gay Brothas Have Feelings, Too with Bryan DeMond

This week on The Self-Aware Millennial (TSAM), we are remotely joined by J.Mix's charming, talented acting buddy, Bryan DeMond, as they explore Bryan's self-awareness journey as a Southern black gay male and how it has impacted his performance on stage and off. J.Mix highlights ALL the pertinent contents about Bryan's self-discovery: being introverted, coming out to his mother, first boyfriend, being a preacher's kid, playing hetero characters, inequalities of white queers vs black queers, etc. They also revisit what sexual liberation means to them, and observe what that looks like for people who don't identify with J.Mix nor Bryan's orientations. Some other things discussed: knowing your character type, advantages of landing a role that's (normally) a different race, unrealities of gay porn, gay for pay, spectrums of bisexuality, backlash J.Mix has received from TSAM's podcast content thus far, sexual libration restrictions during the quarantine, and so so so much more!!
