The 2021 New Years Special In this week’s episode, we wrap up 2021 and welcome 2022 by answering questions and comments from our Facebook page. We then end the show with our Best Top 5 of 2021, but of course, we must include a few honorable mentions at the end. Thank you to everyone who left a comment, including Keith Tarnowski, Josh Bernhard, Arco Esposito, Brad Schaffer, Richie Garofalo, Steve Perel and Robert Spinelli, as well as to all the listeners in general for the support. This reminds us that we have yet to record the episode in which Joe and Chris talk about their differences of opinion on Young Justice. This also leads us into a larger conversation about balancing the show between guests and topic shows. 

25:50 We read a comment from Steve Perel, who would love to see an episode with all three owners of Mint. He also shares a list of questions he would like to hear answered. 

28:00 We read a comment from Patrick Louie, who would like us to read or watch something with which we are not familiar and talk about why we did or did not like it. Richie Garofalo adds on to Patrick’s comment, saying Steve Perel should be part of that discussion. Steve comments on the comment that launches us into discussion about Steve and how he owns “waiting for the trade.” 

33:00 Patrick adds to that comment thread, asking us to weigh in on stuff we don’t like but which has had an impact on the industry. This leads us to talk about some things that have affected pop culture even when we didn’t like it or it may not have been for us. 

36:19 Josh adds that we should make a case for something that the other two aren’t into, such as westerns. We start talking about you never know what you might enjoy depending on who introduces it and how you are introduced to it. Josh also adds that he’d like us to talk about recommendations for people who are not into comics. 

40:50 We read a comment from Robert Spinelli, who asks if we could talk about the adaptations of DC/ Marvel comics into TV and film, as well as the effect that Mint had on the Port Washington community.
