Jesus turned His crucifixion on the cross from a public display of humiliation to a lesson for all of us. Through His unbelievable physical suffering, unimaginable loneliness as He bore the sins of the world, and unknown spiritual pain as He felt separation from the Father for the first time ever, He experienced the worst so He could know our worst. There is nothing that we will go through that He did not feel.

Yet, even in this most horrible of circumstances, He turned to His Father in praise. Jesus knew that what He was going through would save us from eternal separation from God and redeem us so that we could live the life that God planned for us.

His death took away any need for us to perform or sacrifice to be in God's favor. His gift is free and complete. It really is finished.
