09 - El Salvador to Los Angeles

My mother came for a visit and eagerly agreed to do an interview for the podcast. We talk about her life growing up in a rural part of El Salvador and her impression of the United States during the tumultuous period of the seventies at the young age of fifteen. We explore her life and talk about the things that motivated her and how she raised three children as a single-mother in 1980's Los Angeles. It's an inspiring story of a woman overcoming the challenges of immigration, inequality, and her own independence.
