In this episode of The Rough Concept, I am I take you through the experience that birthed Woman in Bloom, the collection that changed everything for my creative career.  I am joined by Cortney Herron, a contemporary figurative painter based out of Los Angeles, California. Her work is characterized by bold yet calming color palettes that bring a sense of tranquility and peace. As a full-time artist, primarily working in the acrylic, oil, and digital mediums, Cortney also lends her creativity to various brands through special collaborations, commissions, and partnerships, including Bombay Sapphire, Dagne Dover, Society6, and Refinery29. • Embrace personal growth: Change is an integral part of life, and it's important to embrace it as it happens. Recognize the need to make room for the person you are evolving into.
• Overcome societal expectations: Society may have certain expectations of you, but it's essential to honor your own passions and desires, even if they deviate from traditional roles.
• Embrace vulnerability and share your story: Sharing your story creates a space for others to connect and find strength in their own journeys.
• The creative process: Creativity is ignited by the magical moments of life that come from various sources. See them as seeds that bloom into beautiful ideas and capture their essence.
• Be present and surrounded by love: Being present in the moment and surrounded by the people we love is important to foster creativity and care for ourselves.
• Capture inspiration and create something beautiful: When inspiration strikes, be ready to capture it and transform it into something beautiful.

Creative Prompt: Think back to the last time you felt that initial creative spark. What emotions were driving that connection? Take some time this week to connect with those emotions and let them guide your creative process. There's no right or wrong way to go about it. It's YOUR way that matters. Remember, it's the feelings behind the creative connection that make it so addicting and powerful.
